With a view to expanding its missions and activities, Bel V is looking for nuclear engineer(s) (HFX) to join its teams of inspectors, project leaders or engineering experts.

- As inspector:

  • Carrying out specific inspections/controls at nuclear facilities to form an idea of the licensee's ability to ensure a sufficiently high level of nuclear safety and radiation protection at his facilities.
    • Contribute to specific technical files (including analysis and evaluation of safety issues identified during inspections).
    • Research, consolidation and communication of the developed opinions to the representatives of the relevant plant.

OR

- As project manager :

  • Organise and follow up the independent safety evaluation by Bel V of the licensee's project, based on the documents provided, knowledge of the installations, experience, verifications and controls.
  • Be the contact person for Bel V to explain and support our views to the licensee, the FANC and other stakeholders.
    • Prepare the organisation of the project and evaluate and adjust Bel V's resources.
    • Deliver planned deliverables to the FANC in line with the agreed schedule and expectations.
    • Participate in technical and progress meetings, including preparing meeting minutes.
    • In cooperation with the FANC, be responsible for communication with the licensee.

OR

- As technical expert engineer in your specific field(s),

  • Conduct safety analyses in your area(s) of expertise.
  • Conduct the independent review of safety analyses conducted by colleagues.
  • Maintain documentation justifying safety positions taken and assist in updating technical documentation.
  • Contribute to determining safety positions.
  • Master existing and new regulations and practices in your field(s) of expertise.
  • Upon request, represent Bel V in international working groups and programmes, or for international activities.

  • Civil engineer, master in physics, nuclear industrial engineer or doctor in applied sciences
  • A work experience of a few years, especially in the nuclear sector, is a plus.
  • Dutch- or French-speaking, functional command of the other national language and good working knowledge of English.
  • You have strong analytical and synthesis skills, allowing you to formulate soundly based opinions on the technical safety issues under investigation.
  • You have excellent communication and diplomatic skills to establish a constructive dialogue with the licensee, the FANC and other stakeholders.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and can also manage files independently.
  • You can anticipate situations and adapt to realities on the field.
